Pdf Icon Changed To Black

The problem is intermittent in nature, and reported for the may 2016 release of acrobat reader dc and acrobat.

I had the same issue and changing it from thumbnail to icon worked. Upon further research it appears that a clearing of the thumbnails cache is necessary to fix the problem.
